Providing direction to optimal health through nutrition counseling and education
What is a Registered Dietitian (RD)?
While every dietitian is a nutritionist, NOT every nutritionist is a dietitian. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a food and nutrition expert that has completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited university or college, completed a supervised internship (which is approximately a 12 month practice program), and has successfully passed a national credentialing examination. Additionally, RD/RDNs are required to complete continuing professional educational credits to maintain their registration. Be sure to ask your provider about their credentials!
